The upstairs is no less interesting in it's design. Originally, the Mansard roof allowed for three rooms upstairs with the stairway running against the outside wall. The previous owners remodeled the upstairs and added a bathroom and walk-through closet over the old side porch (now the kitchen and sewing area). This makes it possible to walk around in circles without stopping...something I do often without wanting to.....
